We have reached the last month of summer, and this year more than ever I keep thinking, “Summer, please don’t go!” Hopefully, you have had a chance to tackle some of the great titles on your summer reading list. If you haven’t, that’s OK – August is the perfect month to sit back and lose yourself in a good book. That’s because it’s usually too hot to do anything else! It’s Quizzo Time
What a bizarre summer. It’s like we are living in a “Twilight Zone” bubble. There’s nothing for us to do but to do what we’re told and hope for the best. And so far? Based on the countless phone conversations I’ve had with friends and business acquaintances, I feel like we are doing our part and not losing our minds.
Smilestones
The Cape May County Zoo welcomed a baby Grant’s zebra on July 14, born to parents Gretta and Ziggy. Grant’s zebra is the smallest of the seven subspecies of plains zebra. The last zebra born at the Zoo was Gracie in 2003.
Times Talk
Mayor Judith Davies-Dunhour, Reese Moore and newcomer Robin Casper were the winners in the Stone Harbor Borough Council primary election held July 7. The results were announced July 14 after the unusually large number of mail-in ballots due to the pandemic were counted.
