The New Jersey Department of Transportation released a $177,000 grant for the reconstruction of a portion of 69th Street between Dune Drive and Ocean Drive. Plans for the project include underground utility work including water service.

Jack Erkert was born in Philadelphia in January 1938. Thanks to his parents, he quickly adapted to being a “summer kid,” spending his first seven summers in Avalon.

Emily Hand and Steve Dickel became engaged on Feb. 14. Emily is the daughter of Tom and Terri Hand, of Stone Harbor, and Steve is the son of Skip and Kathy Armstrong, of Cape May Court House.
