Stone Harbor Shiver Makes a Big Splash
Outrageous costumes and performances were the order of the day March 16 as the Stone Harbor Shiver Polar Plunge drew hundreds of participants and spectators on St. Patrick’s Day weekend.
Max Sorensen and his dog took the prize for best performance with “Kenough,” which even Barbie herself would have loved. And Jim and Marilyn Chichelli were named the 2024 Shiver King and Queen.
The festivities started at 10am with the Sip & Dip at Fred’s Tavern. At noon, everyone gathered for the Shiver Parade that led down to the beach for the plunge at 1pm.
After the performances and costumes were seen and enjoyed, everyone hit the water’s edge at 1pm and those who dared jumped into the icy waters. After the plunge, everyone headed back to Fred’s for some post-Shiver fun.
The Shiver was sponsored by the Stone Harbor Chamber of Commerce.
