Dune Walks

Guided by The Wetlands Institute, enjoy five miles of pristine, wide beaches while learning about Avalon’s dunes, one of the only remaining high dune systems on the East Coast. This experience offers a unique opportunity to explore both the scenic landscape and the environmental efforts that help preserve the beaches. Suggested cost of $3 per person.
Crafty Wednesdays

Put your creative hats on and join Miss Paige for a fun arts and crafts project every Wednesday. New crafts are featured each week, so there is always something new to experience. Sea Creatures with Amazing Features

There are thousands of marine animals of all sizes in our ocean. Learn about crabs, fish, and many other sea creatures that can be found locally. Author Talk at the Stone Harbor Museum

Hear about some of the stories in the upcoming book, “Taylor Swift: The Debut Years,” written by author Emily Yahr, set to release in October on the 20th anniversary of Swift’s debut album. Harvey Zendt was among Avalon’s first generation of surfers in the early 1960s. In the late 1970s, he traveled the world and surfed some of the greatest waves. His recent book, “The Gift of Experience: Remarkable Encounters and Misadventures in the Global Pursuit of Waves,” discusses those adventures. In this talk, Zendt will share stories from Avalon’s early surfing days and his travels, including an excerpt from the book.
