Tying The Knot

DiMARZIO-MAKOWSKI WEDDING SET

Jon Richard Makowski and Gillian Kelly DiMarzio plan to have a small family wedding in June on her parents’ private dock in Avalon. A large reception is planned at the Avalon Yacht Club in June 2022. Gillian is the daughter of John and Lois DiMarzio of Huntingdon Valley, Pa. She graduated from the University of Delaware and earned her master’s degree at Temple University. She is now a speech pathologist for Central Bucks School District. Jon is the son of Joseph and the late Linda Makowski of Kennett Square, Pa. Joseph now resides in Farnham, Va., with his wife Kim. Jon, a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, is a director of national accounts for Powerhouse. Gillian and Jon are excited to tie the knot in Avalon because Gillian’s family has been vacationing here for many years and it has become a special place to their family.

AVALON BREAKERS WIN SOUTH JERSEY TITLE

The Avalon Breakers under-14 girls’ lacrosse team won the South Jersey Youth Lacrosse League championship May 16 with wins over Cherry Hill (10-6) and Moorestown (7-4) in a home doubleheader. The Breakers finished the season with a 14-1-1 record. They are justifiably proud of their season and look forward to competing again next season.

PAISLEY CHRISTINE GORECKE

Paisley Christine Gorecke was born April 23 at AtlantiCare Medical Center Mainland Campus to first-time parents Zach and Joanna Gorecke of Marmora. At birth she weighed 7 pounds, 9.8 ounces and measured 21¼ inches long. Paisley’s grandparents include Al and Chris Heston, of Marmora, and Eric and Julia Gorecke, of Ocean View. Zach is an assistant prosecutor for the Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office, and Joanna works for Seven Mile Publishing as a contributing staff writer and client manager. Mom and Dad can’t wait to watch Paisley grow up with sand in her shoes just like they did.

LUCAS JAMES LOMBARDO

Lucas James Lombardo was born on March 23 at Virtua Memorial Hospital in Voorhees, to first-time parents Kevin and Julia Lombardo of Cherry Hill. At birth he weighed 7 pounds, 13 ounces and measured 20¼ inches long. Kevin is a major market sales executive for PayCor in Philadelphia, and Julia works at Fred’s Avalon Liquor Store. Lucas’s grandparents include Steven and Kathleen Todaro of Medford and Avalon, and Donald Lombardo and Nancy Crisanti of Middle Township. Kevin and Julia are very excited to have Lucas make memories at the beach in Avalon and Stone Harbor just like they did.

SAWYER ELIZABETH RENNIE

Sawyer Elizabeth Rennie was born March 28 to Casey and Kelsey Rennie of Cape May Court House. Arriving at 5:50pm, she weighed 6 pounds, 12 ounces and measured 19 inches long. Casey and Kelsey both work at Cape Regional Medical Center; Casey is a sterile processing tech and Kelsey is a surgical scrub technician. Sawyer’s grandparents include Michael and Holly Rennie, of Cape May Court House; Mary Rennie, of Cape May Court House; and Gary and Judy Schott, of Perkasie, Pa. Sawyer’s parents, cousins and grandparents are very excited to welcome her into the family.
