Brooke Jackson
Middle Township High School
Brooke Jackson graduated from Middle Township High School in June. The daughter of Greg and Kim Jackson of Cape May Court House, she will be attending Rutgers University to study exercise science and to row on their NCAA Division I crew team. In high school, Brooke was the National Honor Society and student council secretary. She was also captain of the swim team and MVP her junior year. The Avalon Elementary graduate will spend her summer lifeguarding in Stone Harbor and enjoying time with family before going to Rutgers in the fall.


College

Catherine Bostard
University of Tampa

Catherine Bostard graduated from the University of Tampa in May with a degree in entrepreneurship. She is the daughter of Rose and Chris Bostard of Avalon, owners of The Preppy Palm boutique. College allowed Catherine to explore her creativity, and this led to the development of her brand, August 5ifth (@august_5ifth), which consists of handmade bags from second-hand and thrifted pants. This summer, she will be helping out at her sister’s boutique in Sea Isle City, Izzi & Lu, as well as continuing to design her own bags.

Samantha Braun
University of Tennessee

Samantha Braun graduated from the University of Tennessee in May. The daughter of Tom and Lisa Braun of Avalon, she earned a degree in business management and entrepreneurship. Samantha really enjoyed her time at Tennessee and said that the past four years will turn into amazing stories. Some of her favorite memories are Saturday game days with the great group of friends she made. This will be her fifth summer working for U.S.A. Pools, her family’s business.

Sarah Schall
Messiah University

Sarah Schall graduated in May from Messiah University with a degree in marketing and a minor in pre-law. The daughter of Steve and Robin Schall of Avalon, she graduated Summa Cum Laude and made the Dean’s List every semester. In college, she was president of the Marketing Club and Messiah University’s Collegiate Chapter of the American Marketing Association. She was also a member of the Delta Mu Delta Business Honor Society and the Investment Club. The former 7 Mile Publishing & Creative intern will be working to obtain her financial planner certification in the future, as well as pursuing law school. This summer, she will be working at a financial planning & wealth management firm and will enjoy boating, water sports, and surfing in Avalon.

Connor Schiela
Virginia Tech

Connor Schiela graduated from Virginia Tech in May. The son of Eric and Kim Schiela of Avalon, he earned a bachelor’s degree in aerospace and ocean engineering. At Virginia Tech, he was involved with Global Engineering Ambassadors, and he was a Kappa Alpha Order member. Connor plans to get involved in the space or defense fields around the Washington area. This summer, he will be bartending at the Avalon Yacht Club.

McKenna Super
The College of New Jersey

McKenna Super graduated from the College of New Jersey in May. The daughter of Rebecca and Tracey Super of Cape May Court House, she earned her degree in elementary education. In college, McKenna served as banner chairwoman of the Sigma Kappa sorority, and the social media chair of the honor society Kappa Delta Pi, where she was chosen from the top 10% of her graduating class. She was also the vice president of the theater honor society Alpha Psi Omega and was a choreographer for five musicals. McKenna is hoping to get a long-term substitute or full-time teaching position back home in Cape May County. This summer, she will be working at the ICONA Windrift, as well as at Panther Playhouse, a local theater camp.
