MTHS HONORS JOHN RICHARDSON DAY
John Richardson, an Avalon resident and Middle Township High School industrial-arts teacher, was honored by the school last year by declaring June 3 National John Richardson Day – a nod to his sense of humor, as he is known as the school’s prankster. Because the school was closed on June 3 this year due to pandemic restrictions, the staff and students wanted to honor Richardson with a shout-out in the Seven Mile Times. Richardson graduated from Middle Township, where he played football and set the school’s javelin record at 200 feet, 9 inches. Upon earning his education degree from The College of New Jersey, he returned home to Avalon and taught in Sea Isle City before moving on to Middle Township High.
