Thanksgiving Weekend in Avalon

Start a new family tradition and spend Thanksgiving weekend in Avalon, where four annual events are held Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Families will have a chance to browse and bid on more than 40 beautifully decorated trees and wreaths during the Festival of Trees at The Whitebrier (Nov. 21, 5-9pm; Nov. 23, noon-8pm); participate in the Turkey Trot 5K run and 1.5 Mile Family Walk (Nov. 23, 10am); and enjoy two jam-packed days of free family fun during Festive Friday (Nov. 23, 11am-6pm) and Snowfest Saturday (Nov. 24, 11am-4pm). Stone Harbor Thanksgiving Weekend

This Thanksgiving weekend, there is 100 percent chance of snow in Stone Harbor. Join the Borough of Stone Harbor and the Chamber of Commerce as 96th Street transforms into “Pine Tree Harbor” for the weekend. Featuring two days with a variety of activities for the entire family, a tree lighting and Merchants’ Hospitality Night on Friday and the Downtown Holiday Dash on Saturday, all the fun leads up to the annual Christmas Parade along 96th Street on Saturday at 6:30pm. Stone Harbor Tree Lighting & Caroling
4:45pm, Stone Harbor Borough Hall

Join Stone Harbor Mayor Judith Davies-Dunhour, council members and students from Avalon and Stone Harbor Elementary School for a trolley ride and caroling starting at 4:45pm, followed by a ceremonial tree lighting at 6pm in front of Borough Hall. Warm up at the Stone Harbor Firehouse starting at 6:30pm with refreshments and photos with Olaf!

The First Frontier: Yeoman-Whalers and the Origin of Cape May County 1pm, Avalon History Center

Jim Stephens of Historic Cold Spring Village will discuss the 17th century whaling industry on the Delaware Bay and how it eventually led to the creation of Cape May County in 1692.

Friend In Need Annual Super Bash

Join local charity Friend In Need at a Super Bowl party for a great cause. Tickets include beverages, food, raffles, auctions and, of course, big-screen televisions to watch the game. Tickets are $25 in advance or $30 at the door and all proceeds benefit Friend In Need.

Designers, deals and drinks return for 2019 with the best list of discounts yet! Stone Harbor Shiver Polar Plunge
Events begin at 9:30am

Start the morning with Kegs ‘n’ Eggs at Fred’s Tavern and register for the costume contest, line up for the parade and get ready for the plunge into the frigid Atlantic Ocean! A parade down 96th Street will begin at noon, followed by the costume contest and the plunge around 1pm. Head back to Fred’s Tavern for the after-party and the announcement for Best Team Performance!
