Letter from the Editor

Dear Readers:

I can’t believe that we’ve reached the end of another summer. I’d swear we were just preparing our Spring issue. And now we’re here, at Endless Summer. Unbelievably, this is our 17th Endless Summer issue for Seven Mile Times since becoming its publisher in 2006. Time does pass too quickly.

I always have mixed emotions at this time of year. Sad, that yet another summer has passed us all by, but I’m also thankful for the many precious memories that we’ve been able to create this summer. So many fun days on the beach, family activities, and amazing nights here in Stone Harbor and Avalon.

Although I hate to see the summer end, as it pertains to weather, this is my absolute favorite time of the year! The days stay comfortable and warm well through September, often into October. The ocean and bay are warmer now than they have been all summer. And so many of our businesses continue to operate in this, the “shoulder” season. So, if you haven’t already, please make plans to spend at least a couple of extra days enjoying our Endless Summer here at the Shore. And the holidays! Seven Mile Beach is magical during the holiday season.

So, that’s a wrap on the 2024 summer season. Once again, thanks so much for your support of the local businesses, restaurants, and shops. Most importantly, thank you for continuing to take the time to read the Seven Mile Times. There’s a reason that we’re the most read publication on the island – and that’s you.

We still have one more issue remaining this year: Our Holiday issue will be published in November, so please plan to look forward to that. It will be filled with details about everything happening from Thanksgiving through the New Year in Avalon and Stone Harbor.
