After a summer of beach barbecues, happy hours at the Reeds, dinners al fresco, and countless trips to the ice cream parlors, you might be finding yourself with lower than optimal energy, bloating, and just a little bit unbalanced.
Beach Reads
Summer seems to just fly by, especially when you spend it at the beach. Lazy days are spent lying on the beach, swimming in the ocean, and making plans according to the tides. Now it’s time to get ready to head back to school, back into a routine, and back to reality. But there’s still time to enjoy those last days of summer, and fall is a beautiful time to be here. Enjoy the beach while the sun is still hot and the water is exceptionally warm.
Don’t Let Your Houseguests Kill You
Living by the beach, we are all going to have the occasional house guest. It comes with the territory. The whole reason we live here is because it is a place people want to visit. We live year-round where people want to vacation, and that is just amazing.

They are rightfully proud of their season and look forward to competing again next year.
Days Gone By

In those days, the school was located on 26th Street and, at least for now, you can still see the building in its original location.

As this wonderful summer comes to an end and we try to get in all of our favorite activities, it’s nice to finish the day with a long meal, grilling with family and friends and sipping some delicious wines.
Financially Speaking: Teach Your Children Well
There is an old expression, “It’s always darkest before the dawn.” Basically, things always seem at their worst just before they get better. As I write this on July 21, it feels as if it rings true with our economy. The S&P 500 is down 17.7%, and the Bloomberg US Aggregate Bond Index is down 10.2% year-to-date.
Kids Picks
Although no one is ever happy to see summer go, it is exciting for all of the new things that happen in the fall. New grade, new friends, and a chance to start the school year with a clean slate. Nevertheless, changes, including a new school year, can also mean being anxious and nervous about what is to come. Don’t be! Embrace the new challenges and exciting things headed your way.
