Located on the corner of Avalon and Stone Harbor, ICONA’s Windrift is a multi-floor restaurant with a grand beachfront view. In 2021, the iconic venue joined the ICONA family, and today it provides locals and visitors with amazing rooms, great food, and an even better view.

The Windrift Restaurant offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner. On the ground floor, it features a lounge serving refreshing cocktails and beverages. In the evenings, live piano music can also be found in the lounge. Restaurant levels one, two, and three serve an extensive food and drink menu. In addition to fresh sushi, the Windrift also offers an assortment of delicious salads and sandwiches.

If you are looking for something lighter, head over to the Windrift’s own Tiki Bar. The venue serves fabulous drinks over a gorgeous view of Avalon’s beaches. Serving everything from spritz to sangria, the Windrift Tiki Bar is the place to be.

Since its opening in 2016, ICONA Avalon has provided 7 Mile Beach with delicious food and beautiful accommodations. The business, which is located on 78th street, offers three versatile dining options.

Avalon Brew Pub, one of ICONA Avalon’s popular venues, offers pub-style food and refreshing drinks. Open from breakfast to dinner, the pub menu includes omelets and french toast in addition to chicken wings, tacos, and classic cheesesteaks. It is the perfect dine-in option for families!

ICONA Avalon’s other venue, Shimmers Bistro, is a coffee bar by day and an elegant cocktail bar in the evening. The bistro serves refreshing cocktails, wine, and beer all night long.

Bobby Dee’s Rock ’n Chair

In March 2003, Bobby Dee’s Rock ’n Chair opened on the corner of 24th Street and Dune Drive. This season, the business is celebrating 21 years of fantastic service!

Bobby Dee’s is an Avalon staple. Folks can stop by for delicious appetizers, entrees, and desserts. From buffalo chicken pizza to pan-seared scallops, the menu has it all. The business’ most popular drink is the refreshing Rock ’n Chair Espresso Martini, which consists of vodka, Kahlua, Tia Maria, and espresso. Locals and visitors alike flock to Bobby Dee’s to end the night with the classic martini.

For owner Gina DiPeso, working at Bobby Dee’s means spending time with family. “Bob & I grew up at the Jersey shore, me in Sea Isle and him in North Wildwood, and have both worked summers since we were kids,” she says. “All three of our kids started working at a young age also and have been involved in our family businesses. Running the Rock’n Chair is a huge family affair, and that is definitely the best part for us.”

In addition to a large food and drink menu, the business also offers regular live music, trivia, and a daily happy hour. While the restaurant offers takeout and dine-in options, it also includes an indoor dining room and a covered porch, both perfect for customers after a long day at the beach.

Avalon Golf Club

Son of a Sailor is a family business. Siblings Paul and Kelly McCorristin opened the restaurant in July 2022. Paul says the business was born out of a passion for local seafood. Kelly’s favorite part of work has been “meeting customers, seeing our regulars each season, and our great staff. Most have been with us since opening day!”

Today, Son of a Sailor offers a ranging menu of entrees, such as flounder, crab, clams, and tuna. The real star of the show, however, is Son of a Sailor’s grilled and broiled dinner combos. Bella said, “My favorite things about working at the Jersey Shore are spending time at the beach with friends and family, and supporting small businesses in Avalon, Sea Isle, and Stone Harbor!”

MexItalia opened in Cape May Court House in 2022. Since its launch, the restaurant has continued to offer an extraordinary menu featuring both Mexican and Italian cuisine. From pizza to empanadas, MexItalia has it all!

MexItalia was born out of a love for good food. For years, the Buchanan family owned and operated two restaurants in Avalon: Circle Pizza and Big Chanchos. After selling the restaurants, the family combined both cuisines to create a unique business.

“The best part of working at MexItalia is offering a truly unique menu,” says general manager Andrew Buchanan. “There's nowhere else in Cape May Court House or on the island where you can sit down and order homemade lasagna with meatballs and authentic Mexican food like sopes and tortas. It feels good to offer something new and different to the community.”

Shorebreak Cafe

Says Iannelli: “It is so hard to choose a favorite as I have so many, but crumb cake is always at the top of my list!”

The Bellevue Tavern

Since its opening in 1905, The Bellevue Tavern has continued to serve South Jersey with delicious food and refreshing drinks! Today, the family-owned business is run by the father-son duo of Dennis Roberts and Dennis Roberts Jr.

Quincy’s Lobster Rolls

Quincy’s Lobster Rolls brings a fresh taste to South Jersey’s shores! After the success of their Philadelphia location, Quincy’s opened a store in Cape May in 2017. Says owner Jeremy McCann: “Focusing on the shore was the best decision we made. I love being a part of the communities and seeing how everyone comes together, gearing up for the summer season.”

While a classic lobster roll is Quincy’s most popular menu item, the business also offers other delicious dishes. The broad menu ranges from creamy lobster mac & cheese to hearty New England clam chowder.

This summer, Quincy’s is expanding to Stone Harbor! At the Stone Harbor location, the business will be partnering with Steak Bros to offer a delicious special deemed the Shore’s Surf and Turf! The special encourages customers to grab a flavorful cheesesteak and a mouthwatering lobster roll.
