CATHERINE BOSTARD
MIDDLE TOWNSHIP HIGH SCHOOL
Catherine Bostard will graduate with honors from Middle Township High School this year. She will enter the University of Tampa this fall and plans to major in marketing. Catherine is the daughter of Chris and Rose Bostard of Avalon, who own The Preppy Palm. She was a member of the MTHS cross-country, swimming and lacrosse teams. Catherine also was in the National Honor Society, Key Club, Red Cross and student council, and served as the junior class president.
ANDREW KAPP
MIDDLE TOWNSHIP HIGH SCHOOL
Andrew David Kapp is graduating from Middle Township High School and will attend the University of Alabama, where he plans to study business. He is the son of Trisha Kapp of Cape May Court House and Kevin Kapp of Avalon. Andrew, a graduate of Avalon Elementary School, was a member of the varsity golf team at MTHS. This summer, he will work alongside his dad in the family business, Kapp Electric, Inc.
ASHLEY OHNTRUP
MIDDLE TOWNSHIP HIGH SCHOOL
Ashley Ohntrup, the daughter of Scott and Tracy Ohntrup of Avalon, is graduating from Middle Township High School with honors. She plans to attend the University of Tampa, where she will major in pre-dentistry. A member of the National Honor Society and the Key Club at MTHS, Ashley also served as a student council officer and competed on the varsity soccer and swim teams. This summer, Ashley will work at the Fishin’ Pier Grille and Avalon Freeze before heading off to Florida in the fall.
KARL GIULIAN
MIDDLE TOWNSHIP HIGH SCHOOL
Karl Giulian, the son of Amy and Karl Giulian of Stone Harbor, is graduating from Middle Township High School. He will attend Stevenson University in Owings Mills, Md., where he plans to major in business administration and play football for the Mustangs. Karl attended Stone Harbor Elementary K-4, Avalon for fifth grade, and then transferred to Middle Township Middle School. He earned 12 varsity letters in football, wrestling, track, and baseball. He was a captain for the football and wrestling teams, was this year’s Homecoming King, and graduated with a 4.0 grade-point average. He will return to his summer job at Brian’s Waffle House before leaving for college.
CONNOR SCHIELA
ST. AUGUSTINE PREP
Connor Schiela will graduate from St. Augustine Prep this spring. The son of Kim and Eric Schiela of Avalon, Connor plans to attend Virginia Tech for aerospace engineering. While in high school, Connor rowed all four years, traveled to Peru and Italy, and was part of a foreign exchange program in which he lived with a family in Spain for three weeks. He also served on the executive committee of the National Honor Society and was part of a service club, Hermit Ambassadors. This summer, Connor plans to work as an instructor at the Avalon Yacht Club’s youth sailing camp.

ST. AUGUSTINE PREP
Avery Zurawski, the son of Anthony and Carolyne Zurawski of Avalon, graduated from St. Augustine Prep. A graduate of Avalon Elementary, Avery was a member of the Prep’s surf team all four years of high school. He played lacrosse as a freshman and decided to play rugby as a senior, but the season was cut short after one game due to COVID-19. He looks forward to playing rugby on the beach this summer as well as surfing, working, and spending time with his friends.

Jack McCoy, the son of Mike McCoy and Kelley Toffoli, graduated from St. Augustine Prep and will attend the University of Notre Dame. He plans to major in finance. A graduate of Avalon Elementary School, Jack played soccer his freshman and sophomore years at the Prep and was a member of the National Honor Society, Big Brother, and the Hermit Ambassadors. This summer, he will return to Stone Harbor’s beaches as a lifeguard and also work as a bartender and food server at a restaurant in West Wildwood.

John “Jake” Miner graduated with President’s Honors from St. Augustine Prep. The son of Peter and Christine Miner, John plans to attend St. Joseph University and major in finance. While at St. Augustine Prep, John was a member of the National Honor Society, Hermit Ambassadors and the Math Club, and also served as a manager of the football, lacrosse and basketball teams. This summer John plans to work as a server at the Yacht Club of Stone Harbor.

ST. JOSEPH’S UNIVERSITY
Frankie McLaughlin, from Avalon, graduated from St. Joseph’s University Haub School of Business with a degree in marketing. Frankie was a member of the Sigma Pi fraternity, served on the Interfraternity Council Board, won the school’s three-point shooting contest and excelled academically. The son of Frank and Lynn McLaughlin, Frankie attended Avalon School and Middle Township High School. He will be spending this summer in Avalon, at The Reeds at Shelter Haven, and continuing virtual interviews as he pursues a career in marketing.
CARA HEENAN
TEMPLE UNIVERSITY
Cara Heenan, the daughter of Sue and Brian Heenan of Avalon, graduated in December from Temple University’s Klein College of Media and Communications with a bachelor’s degree in communication studies and a minor in general business studies. A graduate of Avalon Elementary and Middle Township High School, Cara was a member of the Delta Zeta sorority, a student sales associate for Temple’s student-run WHIP radio station, and studied abroad during the spring of 2019 at Temple’s campus in Rome. She plans to spend as much time in Avalon as possible this summer while continuing to work full time at Nuuly, a women’s clothing subscription rental company in Philadelphia.
