Memorial Day Events

Avalon

American Legion Post 331 (Stone Harbor/Avalon) and the Borough of Avalon will present a Memorial Day parade and ceremony on Monday, May 27. The parade begins promptly at 9am at 32nd Street and Dune Drive and proceeds north to Veterans Plaza, located at 21st Street and Dune Drive. The parade takes approximately 40 minutes before the start of the ceremony. Many Avalon civic and charitable organizations are part of the parade along with Post members and Avalon elected officials. Avalon is honored to have Retired Brigadier General Patrick M. Kennedy as the guest speaker at the ceremony. Kennedy most recently served as the Assistant Adjutant General-Air, New Jersey National Guard, and now serves as superintendent of Veterans South Haven in Winslow Township.

Stone Harbor

The Memorial Day parade presented by American Legion Post 331 will begin at 11am and proceed down 96th Street. Following the parade, the Memorial Day Ceremony will be held at 11:30am at the Women’s Civic Club of Stone Harbor, 96th Street & the beach. Beginning at 12:30pm, Post #331 will host an open house at 11617 Second Ave.
