The rapidly growing Quincy’s Original Lobster Rolls franchise has finally arrived in Avalon, and owner Jeremy McCann couldn’t be happier.
“Amazingly, there are now eight locations, with Avalon being the newest,” McCann says. “Avalon is a great beach town, and Quincy’s has been trying to find the right location there for years. Thanks to our amazing landlord, the owner of the boutique Louella, we believe we found the perfect spot.”
Quincy’s originated more than 10 years ago when a group of friends from the Philadelphia area vacationed in Maine and fell in love with lobster rolls. They came up with the idea for Quincy’s and knew the Jersey Shore and the Main Line would be perfect spots to open their business. The first location opened in 2014 in Berwyn, Pa., followed by Cape May. In addition to the two locations in Cape May, it also serves Wildwood, Sea Isle City, Ocean City, Long Beach Island, and Paoli, Pa., and now Avalon.
“Being in the restaurant business is not something I saw myself doing before Quincy’s,” says McCann. “When the first one opened, we didn’t know how it would be received and put it close to our office, that way we knew we at least had a good lunch option even if no one else liked it! Since then, the office is long gone and now I deal with the ins-and-outs of running eight restaurants (which would be impossible without our top-notch staff, most importantly our GM Mike). I grew up spending my summers in Ocean City at my grandparents’ house, so when I’m driving up and down the shore from LBI to Cape May there are memories … and I don’t miss the old office.”
The Avalon location is open daily at 11:30am. The menu offers classic lobster rolls, crab rolls, shrimp rolls, soups, salads and more. Later this summer, it will also add specialty french fries, the Connecticut style warm lobster roll and a few more options for customers to choose from.

Nesting
9501 Third Avenue, Stone Harbor • 609-368-1848 • nestingstoneharbor.com • Facebook and Instagam
Whether you’re shopping for your own children or grandchildren, or you’re in need of a baby shower gift, Nesting baby and child boutique in Stone Harbor offers a variety of trendy fashions, shoes, toys, books and more for the little loves.
Over the winter, owner Maggie Day moved her business to a “bigger nest” right across the street at 9501 Third Ave., the former home of Maryanne Pastry Shoppe.
“My new space for Nesting is a dream come true,” says Day. “I was determined to make the store the best it could be. Hard work, determination and a positive attitude made it happen, and I am very proud of what it has become and its new potential. I love my customers and strive to contribute something positive to my community.”
Nesting originally opened on April 15, 2010. When the space across the street became available, Day knew it would be a great opportunity to expand her store. The new space is almost triple the size. Renovations started the first week of January and the building was gutted from inside out. With a grateful heart, Day also recognizes the team of contractors who helped Nesting open its new doors over Easter weekend.
“My children, Jackson [13], Brady [10] and Maisie [8] are my inspiration and drive for everything I do,” says Day. “I think it’s very important to lead by example. Work ethics are so important in all aspects of life. Learning discipline and time management are core principles of success and if I can teach my children some of these things by practicing them daily in my business, I believe it will show hard work is worth it and produces results and builds pride.”
Carrying sizes from newborn to size 12 in girls’ and boys’ clothing, customers have come to love popular brands such as Kissy Kissy, Angel Dear, and Jellycat, and will now see new brands like Andy and Evan and Chaser Kids. Day says new brands will continue to pop up in the larger space, and online too.
Nesting is open daily 10am to 9pm and 24/7 online at nestingstoneharbor.com.
