Days Gone By

Here’s one that probably goes back to the late 1920s or early 1930s. Fun to look at all the details in this photo of the Stone Harbor lifeguards: like the young lad who managed to sneak into the shot behind the stand; or the guard puffing on a pipe – is that permitted today? And for all of you former beach patrol members, take a look at that lifesaving device. Maybe that’s why today we call them cans? And notice this photo is taken under Stone Harbor’s boardwalk.
