Stone Harbor Triathlon, 7am, Yacht Club of Stone Harbor, 9001 Sunset Drive
While registration for this popular event is closed, it’s still a great time to cheer on these athletes as they run, bike, and swim the island. The course includes a quarter-mile swim in the basin at the Yacht Club of Stone Harbor, an 11-mile bike ride, and a 5K run. Proceeds raised from the event will go to the Stone Harbor Volunteer Fire and Rescue squads.

16th Annual Avalon Yacht Club Run from the Sun 5K Run/Walk & Kids Sprint, 8:30am, Avalon Community Hall
Head over to Avalon Community Hall for an early-morning run. The Kids Sprint (1/10 of a mile) starts at 8:15am, and all kids’ finishers will receive a medal, a T-shirt and refreshments. The 5K will begin at 8:30am.

History Center Lecture: Robert J. Walker, History and Archaeology of a Coastal Survey Steamship, 6pm, Virtual
Join the Avalon History Center for a virtual lecture detailing the history of the Robert J. Walker, an iron-hulled, paddlewheel steamship that was in service for the United States Coast Survey before it was lost with 20 men after a collision at sea off Atlantic City in 1860. Festival of Lights Boat Parade, Dusk, Yacht Club of Stone Harbor, 9001 Sunset Drive
Deck your docks and boats to the nines for the “Music Through the Ages” theme at the annual Festival of Lights Boat Parade. Boats will line up at the Yacht Club of Stone Harbor and begin parading to basins throughout Stone Harbor starting at dusk. All dock and boat participants are invited to join the YCSH after-party featuring 3AM Tokyo.
