Restaurant Profile: Avalon Links

The Avalon Links restaurant is located at the beautiful Avalon Golf Club. Both the golf club and the restaurant opened more than 50 years ago. The “links” in Avalon Links is what golf courses built on the coastline originally were called but now can apply to any golf course.

While most golf courses have restaurants, this one has grown over the years to accommodate banquet facilities for weddings and special events. The Links is managed by Phil Barber. He was a club member and teamed up with the owners more than two decades ago to help operate the restaurant. Today, he is also the executive chef.

The Avalon Links offers a one-of-a-kind dining experience with a view. Guests can enjoy their food while taking in the picturesque landscape of the course’s greens and fairways. The ideal location for golfers, they can stop in before they play or after. The menu includes a variety of fresh fish. Other favorites include Clams Casino Soup, Tuna Poke Bowl, Crab Hushpuppies, Links Flatbread, and Filet Mignon.

The golf course and restaurant are open every day except Christmas. The restaurant hours are: Monday, 11am-4pm; Tuesday to Thursday, 11am-8pm; Friday-Saturday, 11am-8:30pm; and Sunday, 11am-8pm.

The Links also hosts a variety of seasonal events throughout the year. A few of the events include: Thanksgiving Day Buffet, Valentine’s Day Dinner, Easter Brunch, and Mother’s Day Brunch. In addition to the seasonal events, there are also specials throughout the year. Sunday Night Out is currently the most popular; for $29, you can get any of the following three entrees: Prime Rib Au Jus, Seafood Noodle Bowl, or Crab Cakes.

There is always something new and happening at Avalon Links. “We continue to invest in the course, club house and restaurant,” Barber says. “If you haven’t visited us recently and tried our fall menu, then we hope to see you soon!”
