Days Gone By

Fifty years ago … November 1973. The Sandpiper, Seven Mile Beach’s 24-hour diner of the 1970s, also planned to be open for Thanksgiving Day dinner and, according to this advertisement, was also available for holiday parties. The Sandpiper was where many people might have ended up after a late night at The Princeton, Jack’s, or Fred’s in the pre-Wawa era of late-night dining. It was open year-round on Dune Drive between 27th and 28th streets.
