Days Gone By

Not so very far back on this Days Gone By … Back to only about 1994 … Here is Monsignor Patrick Tierney (1933-2009) amid the festive Christmas decorations of the Sacred Heart Church in Avalon. Born in Meath, Ireland, Monsignor Tierney was ordained in 1957 and served at Maris Stella from 1992 until his retirement in 2009. This photo is probably a good reminder: If you haven’t already, take a drive by the churches of St. Brendan the Navigator Parish and see how beautiful the exterior of the churches are decorated at night.
