LOOK WHAT THE STORK BROUGHT!

MARGARET ROSE HALLINAN

Margaret Rose Hallinan was born Aug. 27 to Brendan and Mary Katherine Hallinan, of Chicago. Born at Loyola University Medical Center, she weighed 7 pounds, 10 ounces and measured 19½ inches. Margaret’s grandparents include Frank and Tricia Hallinan, of Naples, Fla., and Avalon and Brian and Peggy Golden, of Cleveland. Her great-grandparents include Betty Hallinan of Jupiter, Fla.; Pat Mullen, of West Chester, Pa.; Dave and Shirly Pecjak, of Cleveland; and Pat Golden of Columbia, Mo. Brendan is an insurance broker and Mary Katherine is an elementary school teacher. Avalon is a special place for the new parents as they have spent many summers at the Hallinan home on 76th Street since they first started dating in 2015. They can’t wait to introduce Margaret to Avalon next summer!

NOAH SUTTON HOFFMAN

Noah Sutton Hoffman was born Aug. 6 to parents Aaron and Chelsea Hoffman, of Cape May Court House. Noah arrived at Shore Medical Center in Somers Point weighing 4 pounds, 14 ounces, and measuring 16½ inches. Big brother Wyatt is adjusting well and loves his little brother. Noah’s grandparents are Craig and Lauren Otton, of Stone Harbor, and Paul and Eileen Hoffman, of Eldora. Noah’s great-grandparents include Suzanne Stanford, of Stone Harbor, Joyce Hoffman, of Cape May Court House, and Doug and Cathy Stanford, of Marmora. Noah’s mother is a counselor at Ventnor Middle School, while his father is the tournaments and events coordinator for South Jersey Marina.

TAYLOR MAE NEWCOMB

Taylor Mae Newcomb was born Aug. 13 to Lyndsy and Daniel Newcomb, of Cape May Court House. Taylor weighed 7 pounds, 3 ounces, and measured 19½ inches when she was born at Cape Regional Medical Center. Big brother Jackson loves having a little sister. Taylor’s grandparents are Joanne and Frank Vaul, of Stone Harbor, and Lynn and Bill Newcomb, of Dennis Township. Her great-grandparents include Frank and Irene Vaul, of Brookhaven, Pa., and Joy Newcomb of Newbury, England. Taylor’s mother is an attorney with the law firm Monzo Catanese Hillegass. Her father is the director of Motor Vehicle Registration and License Checking at eDriving.

KANE ROCKETT LAVIN

Kane Rockett Lavin was born on July 15 to Katie Lavin of Fort Washington, Pa. Born at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, he weighed 7 pounds, 8 ounces, and measured 20¾ inches long. Kane’s grandparents include Jeanne and Gerry Lavin of Fort Washington and Avalon. Katie Lavin is the vice president of marketing for the National Lacrosse League. Avalon is a very special place for the Lavin family members as they have made many memories here year-round. The family can’t wait to watch Kane grow up in Avalon and enjoy the sea and the sand!

Tying the knot

HAND, DICKEL WED

Emily Hand and George Steven Dickel were married in September at Meadow Creek Farms. Emily is the daughter of Tom and Terri Hand, of Stone Harbor, and George is the son of Skip and Kathleen Armstrong, of Cape May Court House. The couple first met while attending Wildwood Catholic High School and reconnected after Emily graduated from Immaculata University. Emily works at the family businesses, Fred’s Tavern and Lazy Bass Bayside Bar & Grill. George works for Cape May County. The couple will go to Aruba in December for their honeymoon.

KRAVET, RATNER ENGAGED

Shayna Kravet and Adam Ratner became engaged Aug. 14 at the ICONA Avalon. Adam is the son of Chuck and Ilana Horowitz Ratner, of Cleveland. Shayna is the daughter of Marcy Berkal of Melville, N.Y., and Scott Kravet, of Atlanta, and stepdaughter of Leslie Kravet, of Atlanta. Shayna also is the niece of Ellen Kravet Burke and Ray Burke, of Avalon. Shayna and Adam both work in New York; she is a middle-school guidance counselor and he has a job in sports technology. Avalon is a very special place to them, as they have enjoyed family vacations on the island over the years, and many relatives came here to celebrate their engagement with them. The couple is planning a July 2023 wedding in Brooklyn.

BARR, MONTANARI EXCHANGE VOWS

Eric Montanari Jr. and MaryVictoria Barr were married Oct. 9 at Sacred Heart Chapel in Avalon followed by a reception at ICONA Avalon. Eric is the son of SueAnne and Eric Montanari, and MaryVictoria is the daughter of Kate and Victor Barr. The couple first met the summer after college. MaryVictoria was a server at the Golden Inn Beach Bar, where Eric used to go with family and friends on Mondays to hear local musician Sean Loosh. The couple splits their time living at their apartment in Philadelphia and their families’ beach houses on 21st Street in Avalon and 113th Street in Stone Harbor. Eric works at his family’s restaurant in Stone Harbor. He also coaches basketball and is a realtor on the island. MaryVictoria is an associate and director of business development and marketing at Daroff Design Inc., an interior design firm in Philadelphia. On the weekends, MaryVictoria waitresses at the family restaurant in Stone Harbor. The couple went to St. Lucia for their honeymoon.

DECHERT, DWYER ARE ENGAGED

Eric Dechert and Anne Dwyer became engaged March 3 on the 13th Street beach in Avalon. Eric is the son of Karen and Dutch Dechert of Avalon. Anne is the daughter of Tim and Marianne Dwyer of Chestnut Hill, Pa. Eric, a graduate of Centenary College, is a realtor at Ferguson-Dechert Real Estate. Anne, who graduated from LaSalle University, is the manager at She Be Surfin’. The couple were introduced by mutual friends in Avalon, and are in the process of planning their wedding.
