Spa Avalon has been providing the island with premier spa services for 13 years. In October, Carly Caprioni sold the business to Jennifer Weldon, who had worked there since Caprioni purchased the salon in 2010.

“I was her first hire after she bought the business,” Weldon says of Caprioni. “I have been in this industry since 1994, and have worked in every aspect of the industry, hair, skin, and nails. This industry is ever changing. I believe that is what appeals to me – I love learning, and this career is just that, continuous learning.”

Weldon began her career with Aveda Salon, where she did some salon management before turning to full-time skin care and waxing 10 years ago. She has a passion for the industry and the people it draws in. She is a wife, mother of four, and a Yia-Yia to one grandchild.

Spa Avalon will continue its operations as a full-service day spa offering massages, skin care and natural nail care. The spa carries Pevonia, the high-end, botanically based skin-care line. Every Friday in the off-season from October to April, customers will enjoy “Feel Good Friday,” which features 15% off services.

“Spa Avalon would not be what it is today without the dedication of the staff. Day in and day out they work hard to give the best services to all of our guests,” Weldon says. “I am so proud to have each and every one of my friends working and supporting me through this transition; we have worked side by side for the better part of 10 years together. I would also like to thank all of our clients and other business owners who have sent flowers, gifts to congratulate us on our new venture. Without everyone’s support, we wouldn’t be able to succeed.”
