As we approach the fall and winter seasons on Seven Mile Beach, property owners are often faced with the dilemma of closing up their homes for the season with no one to look after their property. With help of a new business, SEAcurity, owners can have peace of mind while they’re not visiting their home away from home. We met with owner George Vogelei to learn more about SEAcurity.

As a retired Avalon police officer who worked for the department for more than 25 years, George Vogelei is more than familiar with Seven Mile Beach. So, when he took over Anderson’s Property Management for fellow retired police officer Ray Anderson two years ago, it was a perfect fit.
Now, Vogelei has rebranded the company name to SEAcurity and is ready to take on more clients across Cape May County as a property manager specializing in services over the winter. He offers clients “winter checks” several times per month to check the property for security and safety, as well as winterization and dewinterization before and after the cold winter months.
“It seemed like it’s a service needed down here,” Vogelei says. “In the wintertime, there's just nobody out here. It’s convenient for somebody who owns property down here to have somebody that they can trust and rely on to come to their house. Whatever they need done, I can shoot over there instead of them driving 2, 3, 4 hours from out of state.”
From his many years living and working on the island, Vogelei has built up a great relationship with several contractors who will easily be able to assist with any construction or damage in the offseason.
“It’s about the peace of mind knowing that there’s somebody down here all the time,” he says. “Even though you have an alarm system, that doesn’t always detect where there are leaks inside or wind damage outside or something that could turn into a major issue. But I’m always there to check the properties.”
Vogelei is available to his clients by phone 24/7 for any needs they have.
