Summer days and nights may be coming to an end, but we will let you in on a little secret … fall is one of the best times to visit the Jersey Shore. With several restaurants adapting to the current outdoor-dining allowances issued by the state, there are still plenty of days and nights to head out and enjoy a delicious meal. From cozy, cabana-style dining to a romantic date night, the options for dining out are endless. Fall is a great time to be outside, so why not treat yourself to a night out? When you feel like enjoying a quiet night in, there are several options for takeout and delivery, too. We’ve put together a list of dining options for you. A Stone Harbor tradition, Fred’s Tavern is the best spot to grab a burger and a beer along 96th Street. With a mix of high-top tables for two and patio style dining, the menu features salads, sandwiches, and burgers that are out of this world. More in the mood for appetizers and drinks? With its outdoor seating section overlooking the Harbor Square Mall in Stone Harbor, guests can bask in the salt air from al fresco dining. ICONA Avalon opened the Avalon Brew Pub in 2016 with menu options including classic breakfast, burgers, sandwiches, pizza and gastropub-style entrees. The bar also features local craft beers, including a varied selection of its namesake house-brewed beers. The restaurant is open year-round, and on-site brewing takes place just steps away from Avalon’s beaches. Guests can enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner on the veranda, which offers open sides for ventilation and has a covered roof in case of rain. The space is also heated once the weather cools down. Open-air seating for the Avalon Brew Pub is also available on 79th Street. Reservations may be made online at avalonbrewpub.com.
