Days Gone By

There was a time when the Seven Mile Beach had three movie theaters. While COVID-19 is currently keeping us from attending movies in theaters, we thought it might be fun to look back at the movies showing at the Avalon Theatre 70 years ago this month, during the summer of 1940. Considered one of the finest movie theaters on the coast at the time, it was “healthfully air conditioned,” a treat back in those days. And be sure to check the admission prices – good place for a cheap date.
